All You Really Need to Know About the Da Vinci Code
I finally saw The Da Vinci Code film. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Brilliant story. Stellar production values. Extraordinarily enticing vehicle to deliver a lofty message that most people would never receive through non-fiction. Entertaining, stimulating, illuminating. Timely and uplifting. As good as a movie gets. From a spiritual point of view, there are only two things you need to know from this movie, both of which could be life-changing for each of us and all of us: First, the importance of reclaiming, honoring, and embracing the divine feminine. It is no metaphysical secret that our world is tipped out of balance toward masculine energy. Aggressive power plays, linear thinking, and warfare dominate human interactions, at the expense of the gifts that the feminine principle offers. The witch hunts briefly described in the Da Vinci Code typify the unconscious masculine's terror in the face of softness, intuition, feeling, and psychic connection. What the terrified male does not understand is that embracing the pure feminine would bring not devastation, but healing. If we honored our inner life as much as we focus on the outer, many of our psychological and societal ills would be solved in short order. The masculine would also be lifted to a level of expression far more powerful than plowing over the undesirable. Major kudos to Dan Brown for delivering this message in a riveting fictional format. (If Dan hadn't done it, someone else would; it is an idea whose time has come.) The genie will not easily be stuffed back into the bottle. The second thing you need to know ― even more important than the first ― is that the lineage of Christ is not a blood line, but a spiritual line. The notion that one woman is the final descendent of Jesus Christ is a half-truth. Yes, a woman could indeed be the bearer of the Holy Grail. And yes, we all are. Spirit's legacy is not a body, but a heart. All the commotion about finding the Holy Grail, the tomb of Mary Magdalene, the Shroud of Turin, and on and on and on, is fascinating but superfluous. Jesus' true gift was attaining a consciousness of his identity with God, and that consciousness is available to you as well. This awareness is certainly not restricted to Christians. It is the heart and aim of all religions, each in their own language, and the whole purpose of your spiritual journey. There is indeed a conspiracy to obliterate the descendents of Christ, but it is not about murdering bodies. It is a mass hypnosis that asserts that you are a physical being only, disconnected from God, alone and abandoned. A part of your mind believes that you are separate, unloved, powerless, and purposeless, and this is the true movement depicted in The Da Vinci Code as Opus Dei. This belief dominates much of the world, leaving billions of people in desperation, isolation, and spiritual poverty. All the suffering you see is the handiwork of this conspiracy. Simultaneously there exists a secret society dedicated to keeping that legacy alive, which keeps popping up just when it appears that the divine has been squeezed out of existence. You can't kill God, try though many have, and, as the bumper sticker proclaims, "Nature bats last." Every great writer, artist, musician, and statesman who reminds you that you are the seed of God and your life has a purpose is a master of the Priory of Sion. Children and pets sit at the head of the Board of Directors. Bottom line of The Da Vinci Code: The story is a metaphor for the inner dynamics of your spiritual awakening. My advice: Pay little attention to history, and a lot to destiny. Don't get confused by all the hoo-ha that fearful, complicated people have generated, and, as Sophie finally did, come home. When you do, you will find that you have had love and protection all the while that crazy people were running around fighting over small objects. You need not jet around Europe blasting through concrete floors in medieval cathedrals to find God - romantic, but unnecessary. Instead, blast through the ceilings of your perceived limits and you will find that God stands right where you are, wearing your own shoes.
"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." ― Leonardo da Vinci

What's the Truth About Karma?
The word karma is bantered about in the spiritual world quite often. Some sources such as Gary Zukav and Yogananda seem to imply (at least to me) that some of our actions will incur a debt or suffering. It seems that suffering would be a part of our growth, in their teachings. Other sources such as Abraham-Hicks will say such things as "There is no value in suffering." Teachers such as yourself seem to place much more value on learning through joy. Can you explain karma and if possible, reconcile these teachings to help make my understanding more complete?
It is wise to protect yourself from pain. Just be sure you don't protect yourself from love.
