This life coaching program has evolved as the result of many years of seminar leading and working with people intimately in coaching/teaching/healing formats. It  represents the leading edge of my passion. I love the group size that allows me to connect with each of you as individuals, get to know you, and walk through your journey with you. I feel blessed to be able to do this, and I learn as much as I teach ― sometimes it seems more!

My life is about staying connected with spirit, although I certainly have moments of distraction. Yet the contrast always moves me ahead.

I love living in Hawaii with my dear partner Dee and our five dogs = children J.  Nature is my church, and when I am outdoors, moving my body, looking at green leaves and breathing fresh air, I remember how good life is.  Writing comes naturally to me and I am always writing something new and innovative, to keep me probing into uncharted lands.

In this program I would love to connect with each of you at a heart level and savor you getting clearer on where you passion, purpose, and power live, and watch you take steps to make your outer life match your inner truth. Thank you so much for sharing the adventure!

My journey through life was guided by many forces. To my surprise I found myself in medical school and became a psychiatrist.  To this day I marvel at my path and those amazing forces that steer us. Following my heart, I moved away from traditional medical psychiatry.  I now practice spiritual, heart-based psychiatry.

I come to this program to deepen my capacity to follow my own heart vision so that I might guide others to do the same.  I seek to balance my mind/body/spirit and teach others to live in balance.  It has been said to "teach what you need to know".  I feel great joy and satisfaction teaching others to live in balance and allow their heart to guide them. This is what I desire to know and teach on a deeper level each day of my journey. I look to this program to enhance my heart vision.

My journey is just beginning.  I plan to meld the coaching business into my ladies' private practice spa that I own.  It will be another facet of my service menu and (at some point) I will reduce the spa services I conduct, and generate the largest incoming revenue from the coaching practice.    What I need most from this program is a great education so I feel confident that I can help any woman improve her life by realizing how wonderful she is and the gifts available to her regardless of what's happening in her world.  I hope to learn for myself and then be able to assist others with what I have absorbed and worked in my own life!  Thanks!

My interest in life coaching began in earnest as an avid Hay House radio listener over the last two years.  All of my favorite programs have been the life coaches -- Alan Cohen, Michael Neill, Cheryl Richardson, Lauren Mackler.  I couldn't seem to get enough and would listen to the shows and archives for several hours a day, while getting ready in the morning, while working out, every spare moment I had.  I loved seeing the difference that the coaches could make in people's lives even in just a few minutes on air.  I began working with my own life coach over Skype.  Over time, the idea of becoming a life coach myself started to really appeal to me as an alternative to my diplomatic career and I got a couple of other people who were interested in coaching together to explore it as a weekly group.  I love the idea of being able to work with people to figure out what it is they want out of life and then help them find the courage to get there.  I especially like the idea of bringing coaching more broadly to individuals and groups in developing countries.

In addition to coaching I am also fascinated by the mind-body connection and its associated healing modalities as well as a million other possibilities in the creative arena (ideas for TV travel shows, writing, documentaries, etc.)  There's so much percolating in my mind, but life coach training with Alan seems like a good place to start because I know it will help me figure out my own direction as I learn how overcome limiting beliefs and help other move toward their dreams.  I am hoping this course will help me better shape my own direction as well as give me the confidence to work with others in a coaching capacity and help me determine if I want to pursue coaching as my primary path or use it in conjunction with other career pursuits.

Hello All!

Choosing to do the program came about in quite a spontaneous kind of way. I'd read a few pages of Alan's book "A Deep Breath Of Life", (first time I'd ever read anything by Alan), which had me so inspired and excited about life, that the next thing I knew I was enrolled in a Life-Coaching program and booking a flight to the other side of the world!

For the week leading up to my decision on whether to commit to the program or not, a war waged within me. My head kept saying things like - "don't be silly you can't afford it, you're about to give birth, this is so selfish and unpractical - how will the baby and family cope while you're gone?, and so on. But the voice I eventually chose to listen to was that of my heart, which told me - "this is the best gift you'll ever give yourself and your family, be brave, everything will be taken care of". And thus here I am.

What I hope to gain most from the program is peace and clarity in my own life's purpose and direction. I know this is going to be a really enriching experience and I'm so pleased to be sharing it with you all. I know we have a wonderful group lined up and I can't wait to meet everybody!

After years of thinking about life coaching (But staying in hiding) I have recently begun experimenting on anyone who will subject themselves to my services; my sister, my partner, my dog. I also practice on the people who call in to Hay House Radio shows, so I do a good deal of coaching over the kitchen sink washing lettuce and peeling potatoes.

One area of interest is personal mythology. I’d like to facilitate a course that invites writers and would-be writers to explore whether the stories they tell about themselves expand or contract their lives. The course emphasis would be on writing for happiness rather than for publication. I hope to employ the naturally therapeutic nature of writing, the inner voice/wisdom of the participants and the intimacy of writing groups to provide an environment for inquiry and transformation. With plenty of creative fun thrown in. The idea of this course scares the crap out of me so I know I’m on the right path.

I’m looking forward to working with Alan and my fellow students to develop my skills, broaden my thinking and take a leap into the unknown.

I enter into everything that I do expecting to learn more about myself in the process, and life coaching to me seems like a natural progression on the journey of my life. As a yoga teacher, I am always encouraging my students to move away from their "past" and to go forward with gratitude. I am sure that I will learn skills to improve my communication with them, plus the self- confidence, motivation and balance that it will bring to my life, so that I can reach goals with the structure I will need to accomplish them. Becoming a life coach as an added profession is exciting to think about!

So looking forward to meeting everyone!

I have been helping people transform their lives through personal and professional coaching since behind what made my techniques successful. I work with people from all walks of life and love the results. My life's purpose is to provide services (amongst other things) and I am having fun following this path.

While in this program, my hope is to learn more techniques that will help others while also continuing to work on become a more complete person myself. I am excited to learn from others and welcome the opportunity to continue my transformation.

I live in the foothills above Bakersfield, California  and I practice counseling in the city and also by telephone.

I have studied and practiced a variety of techniques all related to the healing profession.

I love nature, animals and my four grandchildren who I love playing with. My 92 year old mother lives about 40 miles away.

I am a spiritual explorer and seeker and a great deal of my time is spent in this arena.

I reached a state with my coaching about six months ago where I felt stale and that it had become too repetitive for me. I struggled with this and then just decided to accept where I am. I've spent the last six months or so  in an internalized state...questioning and cleaning out my inner closets. I'm wanting to explore new inner spaces and horizons so that I can expand my growth. I want to gain some new fresh perspectives and skills and have a breath of new inspiration. I'd like to regain my energy and grow my practice in a larger way.

In the meantime, I work for a casting company in Los Angeles where I assist the casting Directors with a variety of functions. This is simply to pay my bills. However, I  find that my coaching finds it' way into this arena at times.

I love working with people and find that how I work with people depends on my own learning and expansion. I'm open to new horizons and am looking forward to what I know will be a solid and inspiring course.

This is Alan writing for Walter, who is working on the Alaskan pipeline for an extended period. Walter is a graduate of lots of my programs, including Life Coaching. He will be assisting me at the retreat and participate in our calls. He is a very dear guy with a big heart and very dedicated the truth and service. He loves being outdoors and commutes between his stints as an engineer repairing the pipeline, and his home in Florida (How’s that for contrast?)  Walter applies his coaching skills to helping people with bipolar issues, supporting them to discover and use organic ways to heal and grow.  He is generally quiet, and when he speaks, makes his words count. He savors being in the seminar/coaching space, and adds inner strength to his friendships and the group.
